They give all the info about the Hardware and Software and even the companies behind these products themselves. They also give reviews of the new hyped item to let you know if its worth it. They go behind the scenes to the expos and press events to give you all the info. I recommend this site a lot if you want to know the newest info in the Tech world.

Info Techmology

No, my opinion has not changed after the readings. I think technology is making our lives more convenient rather than make us lazy or dumber. Rather than looking through a thick text book to order a Pizza. You can just Google it and get the number and address in a matter of seconds. Just because we can get our information faster, doesn't mean we are getting lazier or dumber.
I'm a fan of technology, and am really looking forward to what comes out through out the years. Phones are becoming laptops, and laptops are becoming so powerful it isn't necessary getting a desktop (unless you are a gamer).

The Easy Access to Entertianment

These days entertainment is getting much easier to get to, our music, movies, and video games. First of all, we have our cell phones which can give us internet anywhere we go. So this means we can stream music and movies anywhere we go. These days instead of just buying CDs or DVDs for music and movie needs; we have the internet to download or stream our entertainment at home or on our cell phones. Video game consoles are not only for games anymore, but becoming a multimedia hub in the living room. Not only we can play games, but we can store and stream music and movies on them too. Also use them as a DVD player; and for PlayStation 3 for a Bluray player also. We have things such as Netflix or Hulu which we can stream 1000s of TV shows and movies, which can be streamed anywhere from our cell phones, computers, and video game consoles. Entertainment is becoming something that can be reached anywhere now and not only at the movie theaters or at home with a physical format (VHS, DVD).

Internet and dem books

Internet is a great was for information, books are for pre-internet days. I personally hate books, and don't really care for them. With e-books coming out and things like Kindle coming out. Books are obsolete. Personally I would rather watch a movie or play a video game for entertainment. But books are good for things like school text books to keep you off technology and distractions like Facebook and Youtube. I think every book should have an e-book version with the physical version purchase, so for people like me we could CTRL+F information in our books. ;)

Cell Phone/Portable Technology

Cell phones are getting more and more advanced these days; by cell phones I meaning the smart phones. Smart phones these days are getting closer to Laptop specs. I remember just a few years ago I bought an HTC pro touch which i thought was incredible because of the amount of stuff you can do like a computer, but with a crappy processor and not that much RAM. Ever since 2010 there are phones with 1GHz processors; thats half the amount of GHZ of my laptop man. Now recently there are phones coming out with dual core processors, dude that's whats in most laptops. Also Sony announced their PSP2 and that has a quad core processor; in a freakin portable THAT is crazy.

TechMology

     I think technology is getting better at a fast rate and for the better. Cell phones these days are getting better and better the specs are almost as good as laptops. Video game consoles are becoming entertainment hubs for our televisions, watch our movies, listen to our music, check out our pictures, and of course play our video games. Actually everything is becoming a media hub even built-in to televisions now. Movies are much easier to access from streaming services such as Netflix.
      But there also can be some negative outcomes because of technology. For instance internet is getting so advance and you can access anything. But there also some negative outcomes such as hackers which can steal your information. In recent news, Sony's online service "PlayStation Network" has been hacked and hackers stole personal information. Also there are easy viruses that can be sent to your computer and hackers can steal your credit card information and other personal information, which is very dangerous.
     Other than that technology is getting hotter and hotter. I love technology myself, I love seeing all the new stuff that comes out. Except Apple products because all I think they release is a fad. I love seeing the new Andriod cell phones coming out, and Microsofts new Windows Phone 7 products. Also seeing all the new video games coming out the graphics and the story telling on the new games are incredible. And see what the new things come out from Japan from mostly Sony, and Korea's Samsung.

General Education

General Education requirements in colleges are usually thought to students as a waste of time. The purpose of general education is there so everybody gets all the general aspects of education. Even if the major is Computer Science and all your required classes are Math related. For example, even if you need Math more than anything you still should take English for general reading and writing skills because it is needed for students overall skills. The purpose of public education is not to create unquestioning drones, but to create critical thinkers, and the General education requirement is important in this goal.

                  General education allows students to experience different types of classes and exposes them to new people and new situations which can help them outside of class. Social life depends on the student, if the student has friends or not also applies. If a student is an A student and uses most of their time studying and also puts time into partying and hanging out with friends, they will be fine within society outside of school. Whereas you have an A student that only studies and doesn’t use their spare time for anything else, they could be at risk outside of school, because they might not have the social skills and common sense they need to pass an interview, work in groups, move up in a career, and in effect they won’t be successful in life.

Open Letter

      These price cuts in education is a big problem in post-secondary education. With in the community colleges there are less classes and more cramped 30+ classes. The cost per classes are getting higher more than 3 times. Same with the Universities the tuition is higher and transfer rates will also drop. People can't afford to go to a UC even thought they can get accepted. Come on Jerry Brown don't get a bad rep and be worse than Arnold Schwarzenegger and be a politician that can't do his job right that an action star can do better, and change these price cuts on education.
      Come on Jerry Brown turn our frowns upside down :)
